It's The Simple Things In Life

Today is a big day in our house. The Dallas Cowboys come to Philadelphia to play against the Eagles. "Unofficial" team rivalry aside, Tony is a Cowboys fan and I am an Eagles fan. That makes for some interesting comments and looks, not only among family members, but strangers that pass us in public when we're both wearing our respective hats! So you can imagine the anticipation that builds as the games against one another approach! I probably shouldn't admit this, but I get more fun out of the trash talking opportunities than the actual game. Don't get me wrong, I love football and the Eagles, but I'm not going to lose sleep (or fantasy points) if my team loses. :)

That said, my biggest smiles today (so far) have come from spending a silly few hours out of the house (for the first time in days) with my honey on a BJ's shopping trip. There's something about BJ's that sucks us in, especially me. Large quantities at discounted prices? Aisles and aisles of random products and merchandise that I really don't need but find I have to have that minute? Probably all of the above, and I love it! And in my typical fashion, I went in looking for several things I need and came out instead with several things I could do without for the most part. The coolest thing about that? The wide smiles and boisterous laughs that come with each one of those items.

One winner today was my new Electrolux upright vacuum. Awesome. I've tried it out already and although I'm not thrilled that it's bagless, I absolutely love the fact that all of its attachments are on-board and easy to use. Not only are my floors thanking me right now, but Tony is too!

The ultimate highlight of the trip however, is the 36 roll BIG pack of toilet paper sitting on the banister waiting to be taken upstairs. I don't know what it is about having extra toilet paper in the house, but I am just more relaxed when there is.

And as Tony jumps up off the couch, yelling at the TV for the second time in 30 seconds, I better wrap this up and post it before all concentration is focused on the Birds kicking little Boys' bottoms!!!
